The Braumart façade in 1983

Big Plans:
2014 is a big year for Friends of the Braumart! We're planning the summer entertainment event and the second annual Mostra d'Arte art exhibition. Watch for details on the website. This spring, we'll begin working with our fundraising consultants. We are close to finishing work with the architects on options for the redesign of the Braumart building. The biggest project of all: our goal to buy the Braumart this year!

Your membership dues have been received: Thank you!
According to our records, FOTB has received your membership dues for 2014. Your annual dues help keep this project moving forward! Thank you so much for doing your part. Dues income is used for a variety of needs, including keeping our membership informed of our progress!
What else can you do to help create a home for the arts in our area? Encourage your friends to join us! You might also consider a donation to one of our special funds (see other side).

Learning from the experts:
For years, our membership in the League of Historic American Theatres (LHAT) has provided FOTB with valuable knowledge from people who have already accomplished what we are aiming to do: transform a historic theater building into a dynamic center which embraces all arts and artists and provides cultural, educational and economic stimulus for the area, and to provide a social and cultural gathering space. This year FOTB Board members will attend the LHAT regional conference in Chicago and the national conference in New York City! Attendees will return to the Braumart project with a vastly increased understanding of the possibilities and opportunities of a renovated arts center, new ideas on how the arts center can serve the community, increased ability to secure funding, and personal connections to theater professionals across the country. To help defray expenses of registration, lodging, and travel, the FOTB Board is asking for help from our members – as a bonus, your donation will be MATCHED! Any donation towards conference attendance by FOTB Board members will be matched dollar-for-dollar by one of our long-time supporters, up to $1500. Be sure to mark it on the enclosed donation form.

Friends of the Braumart endowment fund:
Do you want your donation to provide long-term support the arts in Dickinson County? FOTB has an endowment fund with the Dickinson Area Community Foundation. Your tax-deductible donation to this fund is managed by the Community Foundation and the earnings are transferred to FOTB as annual grants. It’s a great way to make sure your donation benefits FOTB for years to come! For more information, please contact the Dickinson Area Community Foundation office at 906-774-3131.
